I've bought the dress because I needed a nice outfit for business occassions (with black panty), but I wanted to be able to wear the dress casually as well. It is the perfect dress for it. The long sleeves make it a neat dress. I wore a blazer over it to make the business outfit complete and also to keep warm. In winter days, the sleeves are a bit to thin and short to stay perfectly warm. It's warm enough though if you'll wear it to a party (a room with a lot of people) and I suppose it will be warm enough through spring/summer/fall.
I bought the burgundy color in size S. When I received it, I was afraid the S would be a bit too big for me, but it fits fine. My sizes are:
breast: 82 cm
taille: 71 cm
length: 167 cm
I really love this dress! The fit is perfect for a plus size hourglass with a high waist. I have this dress in three colors and I use each of them a lot :) It works both as a casual or a more formal dress.
Did my 100 day challenge in the canyon red colourway. Despite the not-so-neutral colour I haven't had comments on rewearing the thing over and over. I made a waist tie out of buttonhole elastic to tuck sweaters, which greatly improved versatility (I did not want to rock the knot-in-your-sweater style every day and frankly the Netherlands are cold enough to have to wear a sweater with this dress throughout winter). Due to the fit & flair style I could not easily pair this dress with skirts I have as it peeked out underneath. The neckline is a bit awkward for most of my necklaces, but I don't wear them every day anyway.
Fit was good, although I could have done with a size smaller as the armholes are cut rather generously on this one (maybe this has been solved as it is not as visible in the photos for the newer colourways).
I just love this dress, perfect neckline, perfect fit. Could be a tad shorter for me, but still works for a very short person like me. The size guide put me between M and L, but S fits perfectly fine. I love it and have already ordered another one in another colour. Now I only wish for more colours on the European website. :
It is a fantastic skirt in a high quality and I would have loved to keep it. But... for me, being quite tall, it is just that bit too short for feeling comfortable (esp. on the bike etc). So, at least 5-10cm more length would have been perfect.
I loooove the dress. Put it on and immediately started my 30 day challenge, have worn it for two weeks straight (not my first wool& dress). At first it was a bit tight, as I'm between M an L on sizing chart, chest being smallest, with larger hips. It relaxed nicely.
I would recommend to check the waist placement measurement against a dress you own and like. For me this is that rare dress, for whom the dress waist hits at my natural waist, usually it's too high, as I have longer torso. And do the same for length if it concerns you.
Marine blue is very nice dark blue, I could totally see it as my prefered B in LBD. :)
I wish more companies had the default cup size they work to - in most cases, its a B or a C, and I think that may be the case here. I think their dresses work better for people with a smaller cup size. It's a Jersey fabric, so it's forgiving in that sense, but the waists ride up a lot if you're bustier, more empire line than natural waist and it's not especially flattering. Just sort of... Frumpy.
They're right about the fabric being easy to wash, quick to dry and doesn't really hold a smell. They're not bad dresses in that sense,if the shape works for you, then the rest probably will.
I looked forward to trying something with a fitted waist, but it was higher than my natural waist which made it very unflattering for me. So I'll stick to models where I can decide where the waist goes with a belt :). Material was lovely though.
This dress is a dream. I have been searching for a dress in this style for many many years. I love the fabric and the fit but I am not a huge fan of black (I am attempting the 100-day challenge and I didn't think the red would be a good option) If this dress ever comes out in a navy blue or green style I will scoop them both up. I also think this would make a nice sleeveless style since I prefer dresses to have a waist instead of popular wool& swing style.
The dress look stunning, is super flattering and amazingly versatile. Perfect to accessorize, just not meant for a hot summer
