Too delicate to be practical

Lovely feel to the fabric, beautiful colour, feels good to wear, but 5 minutes in the car and the fabric is already pilling where the seat belt sits . I don't think it can be my go anywhere dress if it's that delicate. What will happen when I wear my cross body bag? Drive more than 5 minutes? I was looking forward to wearing it, but am now disappointed at its lack of practicality.

We're sorry to hear that you've been experiencing an issue with the fabric pilling so soon! We'd love it if you reached out to our helpdesk at euhelp@wooland.com so that we can look into this further.

Perfect for the changeable British summer!

The Beetroot Sierra is the perfect dress for the changeable English summer weather. It can be worn just as it is, and I like the fact that the armholes are very snug so there was no problem with bra straps showing. On cooler days a T-shirt or even a lightweight merino top can be worn under it or a shirt, cardigan or jacket over it. The colour goes with so many other colours - all sorts of blues, black, pink, white ... It looks great with leggings. It can look very smart with the Natalia black cardigan wrap top and the Wool& black leggings as we go into autumn. It is a dress that can take you easily from beach to office and everywhere in between. The only thing I would change is that I would like it just a little bit shorter, but that is not a huge issue.

Not the quality I expected in a Sierra

Beautiful color and same great fit I love in a Sierra, but the quality of the french Terry fabric in beetroot is lower than with other colors I've had. Terrible pilling along the lower back area after just a handful of wears, simply from rubbing against a chair or seat in a car. I also have an Eliza and previously had another Sierra in an older color and never saw anything like this, and I have been much harder on those dresses! The fabric also feels thinner than before. I've invested in a fabric shaver, which helps, but it's a bit disappointing.

We're really sorry to hear that you're having issues with pilling in your Sierra! Could you reach out to our helpdesk at help@wooland.com with some photos so that we can get this sorted and flagged?

Life Changing - Seriously!

I have been wearing this dress for 90 days in a row. It's amazing.
I have worn it for hiking, for meals out, for work (I work for a homeless charity, so practical clothing needed), for preaching in church, for leading youth group and for vegging out on the sofa.
I've dressed it up and down, and it's taken me through the UK spring and "summer" - a couple of hot days, but mostly very changeable and not very warm! I've mostly worn it with leggings, but a couple of days with cycling shorts.
It is soo comfortable and so adaptable.
I've had a mastectomy and reconstruction and I wear fairly sturdy crop top type bras - I don't have any issues with the bras showing round the arm holes, and the thickness of the fabric is just right - I don't feel self-conscious about my shape, the fabric drapes beautifully.
And it's really helped to free me from anxiety over what to wear. I used to spend a ridiculous amount of mental energy thinking about my outfits, and I've found the 100 day challenge in Sierra truly releasing and confidence building. I can't see myself going back to jeans!

Favourite dress

The color -beetroot- and feel of this dress are amazing. The fit is nice too. I shortened it because it was longer than the site said and it didn’t look good on me. Next time I need to buy a regular instead of long. I am doing the 30 day challenge and I really love wearing this dress every day.

I finally understand

I've been a customer of Wool& for a while now. And have several dresses. Up until now Margo was my favourite. I read a lot about Sierra, but thought the thicker fabric with no sleeves would not work for my. I have it always warm, with cold arms and hands. But I was so wrong! The sierra is wonderful. I just finished my 30 days challenge, and it was so easy! The fabric is so soft, it really feels like a hug. I have the long version, so my knees are covered. There was no need to wash during the 30 days. mostly becaus the no sleeves. They cold the Sierra a workhorse, but it's so much more. With my Margo, they are the steady and joyful basis for my daily dressing.

I love this dress

I love the heavier French Terry fabric of the Sierra and enjoy wearing it during the fall, winter and spring. I find it to heavy in the hot, humid summer. (I don't have air conditioning). I often style it with a long sleeve Sloan either over or under it or with a linen blouse. I love the bright pink color. Because the arm holes will stretch out I recommend storing it folded over a hanger or folded on a shelf.

I love my Sierra

I wear this dress almost every day. The style goes with everything, and it's year round! It can stretch out a bit with wearing though, so size down!
The longer length is perfect for a taller person!

Perfect summer dress

I bought this dress to use during the Swedish summer. It's perfect with a t-shirt on top or a cardigan or sweater. I have worn it with the Frankie bike shorts beneath or with the axis leggings if it has been colder. The terry fabric makes it sturdy. It keeps it's shape perfectly, and doesn't cling.

The ocean teal is muted teal, going towards the blue color scale rather than the green, which suits my winter pallet colors well.

The only negative thing (for me) is that the armholes are a tad to big for me, as I'm pretty narrow over the shoulders. I have planned to sew them up a bit but haven't come round to it yet. Which says in itself that it isn't a huge problem.

I do recommend this dress!
